Meadow 1 are looking forward to their trip to the Jubilee Hall to view lovely art work linked to the Book It’s Up To Us. I would love to have a few more helpers to come with us. Please let me know if you can help. We will be leaving school at 11 am and it should be a fairly short trip.
We are so excited to be taking part in Dorset Arts Weeks this year. The whole school is using the book It’s Up to Us. Each page of this beautiful book is illustrated by a different artist from around the world. Every year group is choosing an artist to inspire their art work.
In Year 1 we have picked the artist Peter Sis as an inspiration. Find out more about Peter and his work here
I won’t give too much away as to what we are doing in school but I do hope you will be able to come and see the finished art work! More details to follow…
In Meadow 1 we are all working hard to make sure our writing looks even better! This week these children put in so much effort to improve their presentation, well done everybody!
The Big Plastic Count is a simple yet impactful way to discover your household plastic footprint, whilst contributing vital evidence to push the government for long overdue change. The figures collected will be part of a report that will go to the government to show them it is time for change and to commit to reducing single plastic use by 50% by 2025 by switching to reusable options that work for everyone – and ban sending our waste to other countries. The campaign is being led by GreenPeace UK and Everyday Plastics
Count your plastic for one week – 16-22 May 2022.
Across the country, households of all shapes and sizes, schools, community groups and businesses, will gather new evidence.
How much plastic are we really having to throw away, and what happens to it?
I can’t wait to see you all tomorrow at the start of this very short half term! This half term we will be considering the question “What makes me feel good?” We will be focusing on our well being and how different emotions make us feel along with developing strategies to make us feel good such as spending time outdoors or listening to music. Below is our new virtual library to accompany this half term’s learning, I will also add it to the virtual library tab.
The children enjoyed making these this week! There are so many signs of spring around us at the moment although this week’s cold spell of weather made us all question which season we were in!
