Teach Your Monster to Read

Teach Your Monster to Read is a BAFTA-nominated game that helps children learn to read.  The game covers everything from letters and sounds to reading full sentences.  It matches the phonics teaching we do in Foundation and Year 1 The computer version is free to play and we have just been informed that it is FREE on all app stores until Wednesday 10th November! It is a really fantastic app and I know the children will LOVE it!!

Leaf Man

This week the children have heard the story of Leaf Man a super seasonal story by Lois Ehlert. They have made their own leaf men and tomorrow will be writing about the journey they go on as they get blown by the wind.

Welcome back

Hi there everyone – I hope you have had a spooktacular half term and I can’t wait to see you tomorrow!

This half term we will be thinking about the question Why is there no place like home? Here is the new virtual library for you all to have a look at. Click on the link and then choose a book to listen to. I will also add it to the virtual library tab too.

Happy Half Term

It was so lovely to welcome you into school today! It felt really special and I know the children were very excited to show you around! Have the most lovely half term and I look forward to seeing you in November!

I will attempt to add some of the photos from the slides that were playing when you visited today…

Following on from last week’s welly walk, today the children really enjoyed learning how to draw a map of the Great Field!
